Targets will allow players in smaller games another way to score points by giving players something else to tag.  Targets will vary in each game, depending on game style and configuration. In general, targets will run in groups of 4 (and there are 4 groups, so 16 targets in the arena) and each group will activate randomly, either one or two targets at a time.

Alternatively they may activate in Burst Mode, or activate randomly in different colors, each color awarding a different point value.

Ask your Game Marshal for specifics.  Targets will NOT be activated in every game and are at the discretion of the Game Marshal that briefs the game.

Lazer Gate now has an upgraded system for targets!

Targets can now grant power ups, such as Hyper Mode, Invincibility, Stealth, Multiplier, Retaliation and Team Destroyer!

There is a limit on the number of targets you can activate, currently 20, but this may be adjusted without notice at the Game Marshal's discretion.

[Lazer Gate Target]

Power Up Name HyperMode Shields Invincibility  Multiplier Stealth  Retaliation Team Destroyer
Color of the target Red Green White  Orange  Purple  Cyan  Blue
  • Shot rate becomes 4 shots per second (usual rate is 1.5/sec)
  • Deactivation time becomes 2 seconds (usual time is 8 seconds)
  • Autofire - hold trigger to fire repeatedly
Player will have shields ability until they are used. Shields allows a player to be tagged but not deactivated until the number of shields, usually 3, are used. Opponents have to tag a player with shields multiple times until the shields give way. Shields can be combined with other power ups though there is a 15 second lock out period. A vest with Invincibility will simply announce your invincivility when tagged. You cannot be deactivated during this time.  Any points that you score will be multiplied by a preset factor (usually 3). So if a player with Multiplier tags another player on the back sensor, they would score 300 points (usually 100)  All pack lights are turned off for the duration of the powerup.  When a player with Retaliation is tagged, their phasor will return fire at the moment it is deactivated.  Obviously only active in team games. Only active for 8 seconds. If you have this powerup, once you tag a player on an opposing team, you deactivate that entire team.

Pack looks no different. But when tagged the lights will dim as the shields are worn away.   Pack will alternate between team color and lime. Your pack will appear deactivated to others.   Pack lights alternate between team color and off
